About Tennessee Trucking Foundation

Tennessee Trucking Foundation (TTF) is the 501c3 charitable arm of the Tennessee Trucking Association (TTA).

The Foundation’s mission is to:

Advance highway safety and save lives on Tennessee’s roadways through education and information. Educate new teen drivers on how to safely share the road with large trucks and commercial vehicles. Provide Tennessee children’s charities with funds to improve the lives of our state’s children. Provide scholarships to college juniors and seniors.  Scholarships are administered annually by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Create a positive image for the industry, to ensure that the public understands the importance of the trucking industry.

The Foundation fulfills its mission through the following programs:

Tennessee’s Road Team Captains are professional truck drivers who take the message of highway safety all across Tennessee.

Teens & Trucks Share the Road Program was created in collaboration with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance and other safety partners. Together these partners developed a program to help educate teens about safe driving practices around large trucks and commercial vehicles.  The program includes an instructor lesson plan, student workbook, DVD, Computer App and Website.

Big Rigs for Little Kids Golf Tournaments are hosted in four locations across the state:  Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga. Proceeds are donated to a number of Tennessee children’s charities and the TTF Scholarship Program.

TTF Scholarship Program provides scholarships to juniors and seniors in college who are dependent children, spouses or employees of companies who are members of the Tennessee Trucking Association.

Papa Doug Hauls Strawberries & Smiles Children’s Book is a custom illustrated book featuring stories told by a professional truck driver to his young son. A portion of the proceeds from each book sold go to the Foundation’s Highway Safety Education Programs and the ATA Trucking Moves America Forward Campaign.
Tennessee’s Road Team educates the public, especially students and driver education classes, on highway safety and how to safely share the road with a large truck. Learn more about the Road Team and other Foundation programs.
